In this video, I review the just-released DNT Hydra HS635R. To make it short, this the HS635 (previously my favorite thermal optic) now with a LRF (laser range finder) and ballistic calculator. Meaning, as long as you put in your ballistic information correctly, you can press the side button, the LRF ranges your target, gives you the distance in yards or meters, then tells you where to hold accounting for the bullet drop. This feature has been around on the higher end Thermnight and Zulus models, but this is the first on the Hydra line. The Hydra being particularly handy for the multi purpose functions. A dedicated scope, a clip-on to your day LPVO turning your day optic into thermal, and as a monocular. This new LRF and ballistic calculator function is a welcomed addition in my eyes.
