The Sacred Valley is a mountainous river valley in the Andes filled with beautiful scenery, textile centers, Spanish colonial villages, and important Inca cultural sites and ruins. It makes for the perfect day trip (or longer!) from Cusco, especially if you're trying to acclimatize to the altitude before embarking on some big treks.
We went on a fun day trip with AB Expeditions and got to check out a handful of the region's top sites, like Chinchero, Moray, the Maras Salt Mines, and Ollantaytambo!
