I got an inspiration of making this list when I tried to find a playlist of video game music which would contain only the music from video games made for 8-bit consoles. In spite of the diligent searching I could not find one, so I decided to create it myself.
Despite the consoles back then had very limited soundchips, the composers involved making games for them sometimes had an amazing talent of creating astonoshingly good sounding music. That is why I think that the best of them deserve to be listed and heard on their own.
NOTE: This list includes music only from video games which I have either played myself or heard from some other source. That is why there is no music at all from Sega Master System games, for example.
