Here is a tent review of the brand new 2025 Nortent Varde 1 tent. Is this the best backpacking tent? The Nortent Varde 1 is perfect for solo wild camping in the UK. It's extremely well made, packed full of features and it's made of heavy-duty materials and fixings, perfect for winter camping.
It is the best 4 season tent? Personally, I think the canopy isn't a gimmick. It shelters you from the wind, rain and sun. This solo backpacking tent works well in all weather conditions.
It is the best winter backpacking tent? The advantages of this 1 person tent must be the 4 x 10mm DAC poles, 16 x Dyneema guy lines and 20 x pegs. It is built to withstand some seriously adverse weather conditions.
The main drawbacks of this Nortent tent are weight and pack size but that must be expected for a 4 season tent like this. It is still a lot of money but I truly believe it represents good value for money.
