How can we better understand the complexities of social, political, and economic issues around the globe and throughout history? And how have those collective issues impacted where we are, and who we are, today? In this session, Associate Professor Kerri Raissian will discuss:
• The benefits of an interdisciplinary approach to course studies and research practices
• How this approach promotes the importance of developing critical-thinking and problem-solving skills for today's students
• How this approach brings depth to faculty research
Raissian will provide us with university program scope and sequence examples that demonstrate the value of interdisciplinary studies on learning. She will also discuss how developing an interdisciplinary portfolio of research methodologies can provide a rich perspective on what was, what is, and what could be.
