How does spending the summer in a community of neurotic strangers? That is the premise
of Iris Murdoch's incredible novel The Bell.
The Bell was so ahead of its time that I had to check its publication date several times as I read it. Murdoch's novel had me laughing out loud, but it also moved me and made me mad. One thing is for sure, I didn't want to put this one down and can't wait to read more by this excellent English writer.
