On 2/24/13 EL AL Israel Airlines, the national airline of Israel, made history again when they hosted and sponsored "The 2nd Annual EL AL Israel Airlines National Hamantaschen Eating Championship" in New York, New York in celebration of Purim! Last year the All Pro Eating record was set with 25 delicious Borenstein Caterers kosher hamantaschen eaten in 5 minutes. This year, #1 Ranked Competitive Eater Jamie "The Bear" McDonald took his shot at not only being crowned The National Hamantaschen Eating Champion but also beating the existing record so that he could leave with both a stomach full of Purim pastries and the new All Pro Eating National Hamantaschen Eating Record!
