#shorts We had a fantastic afternoon in the Kirstenbosch botanical gardens on Monday, with the team being interviewed by an international radio station.
We caught up with Bull Bulls, White Eyes, Waxbills, Thrushes, a Bou Bou, a Woodpecker and a host of Sunbirds including a very special sighting.Kirstenbosch is a haven for wildlife and a Bioacousticians delight. Walking through the gardens, you will hear flowing water from the spring, the rustle of trees and a symphony of animals and birds who call the garden home.
As we were walking around, we were listening for life, but we were also relying a lot on "looking". Towards the end of the day, we heard a very squeaky little chirp and then noticed a nest in an Aloe. It looked broken and abandoned at first...but our ears told a different story.
Stay tuned to find out more about yesterday's special sighting.
