The historic B&B Carousell is back in Coney Island! To celebrate this re-opening of the B&B Carousell, Mayor Michael Bloomberg threw the ceremonial switch to turn the ride on. Children from P.S. 90, a school ravaged by Hurricane Sandy, will be the first riders on the beloved carousel. The B&B Carousell add to Luna Park's world-renowned variety of rides and attractions which includes the famous 85-year-old Cyclone Roller Coaster. The carousel is one of 40 historic properties in New York City, chosen by the National Trust for Historic Preservation to participate in Partners in Preservation (PIP), a community-based program which provides preservation grants for local historic places. The carousel received $10,000 in funding through this initiative.
