Battlefield 2 is the best example of a moddable battlefield title with active modding communities until this second. If you know how to mod, you can turn the game into almost everything you can imagine.

You can add more weapons, player models, vehicles, maps, gameplay mechanics, etc., and create your own way and style of playing this game locally or over LAN with friends or host a server to play globally.

This game is now abandonware, and it is almost impossible to get the original copy.

We need more mod-able Battlefield titles in the future.
