Model Railroad benchwork does not have to be fancy. I like to keep it simple and basic. One does not have to be a carpenter to build one either. The primary factors are: It should be strong and preferable of wood construction, stable, and also flexible in order to accommodate all the holes one has to drill to mount accessories, switch machines and the essential wiring.
