Today we’re playing the final chapter of “Dreamcore”, called “Dead Mall”, a surreal psychological horror experience heavily inspired by the internet’s obsession with liminal spaces and the Backrooms. This might genuinely be one of the most uncomfortable horror games I’ve played in a long time.
“Dead Mall” drops you into a massive abandoned shopping centre filled with eerie silence, endless hallways, flickering lights, strange noises, and the constant feeling that something is horribly wrong. The game perfectly captures that weird dreamlike Backrooms energy where everything feels familiar, but completely cursed at the same time.
If you enjoy Backrooms games, liminal space horror, psychological horror games, creepy internet horror, analogue horror vibes, funny horror gameplay, and weird indie games that feel like fever dreams, you’ll probably love this disaster.
