In the mid-season of the Victorian Farm project, our historians race to bring in the vital spring life and face the crushing challenges of an 1880s farm. Alex and Peter oversee successful lambing and pig farrowing, but an incessant wet summer leads to a disastrous failed hay harvest. With their winter feed destroyed, everything rests on the efficiency of new Victorian machinery like the massive Reaper Binder and the success of their final wheat crop.
