While traveling in Australia last year, the government confiscated my cell phone outside the Pine Gap military base — supposedly to examine it to ascertain whether or not I was a spy, or just a nosy dumb youTuber. I felt confident they would find in my favor, and eventually return the phone….so much so that on June 26 of last year, II made a pledge: that I would eat my hat if they didn’t return my confiscated cell phone within a year’s time.

Well, believe it or not, ONE DAY BEFORE I was set to eat my hat, I got an email from the Australian government — saying they would return it!!! I happened to be in Chicago at the time, so I included a little scenic footage in this explainer video, for good measure.
