If this song were directly about Australia then it could be about children playing cricket in an alleyway. However, another facet of the Australian dream can be seen in how Aussies like to escape the over-regulation and cost-of-living crisis in their own country by holidaying in, or moving to a SEAsian neighbour, where the dollar goes a lot further and people ride motorbikes without helmets, on the footpaths or the wrong way down a street or 3 or 4 passengers at a time, where streetfood is everywhere (Mom and Pop food cart businesses) and tropical surf beaches are plentiful. Sometimes in Indonesia, Australia's next-door-neighbour to the northwest, restaurants begin in alleyways (called gang), become popular through word of mouth, and can turn into successful chains. The owners will often keep their alley's name, by which they first became known, throughout their ascension, proud of those humble origins. Gang djangkrik is probably one of those places.
