Communism in Europe saw its last days in 1991, but the first big victory was achieved in 1980 by Lech Wałęsa 👨🏻 and the striking workers of the Gdańsk shipyards 🚢⚓️👨‍🔧🧑‍🔧 On August 31, they struck a deal with the Polish Communist authorities 🤝 which demanded huge labour reforms and basic democratic freedoms in Poland ✌️✌️✌️ For the regime, it was all downhill from there!
