Welcome everyone to The Atheist Experience 28.32 Hosted By Secular Rarity & Armin Nevabi. YAY!
Yikes! Our first caller Benjamin from Alabama makes the mistake of wanting to defend Biblical slavery. Ben has called about this before and for some reason, wants to make a distinction between slavery and indentured servitude. Both are bad and should never, ever be defended. But! It makes for interesting content.
Our second caller of the show is Caleb from Ohio who asks our hosts what scientific evidence is there for God not existing. Can you prove a negative? No. Our hosts explore why atheists lack a belief in God and how the burden of proof works. The conversation then shifts to discuss what evidence Caleb has for his belief in a God and the issues with that evidence.
Welcome our third caller Jeff from the state of Brotherly Love (PA) would like to discuss how reality is proof of God. His argument is God is Reality. The hosts ask for clarification on this claim and explain why it doesn’t hold water. SR also expresses his disdain for the argument as it is amorphous and points out how even believers would find it insulting. Plus Puppy!
Mike from South Carolina is up next to discuss what motivates us here at the ACA to volunteer both Armin and SR explain why they do what they do. He also poses the question to our hosts, why should we use nature to organize society? Is religion better? A nuanced discussion is had about how religion would not be better to organize society.
Let’s welcome George from Bulgaria who wants to discuss the properties of existence? Yes, we listened to this call. Does it make sense? Who knows. Spiritualism/Woo Woo talk. Last call of the show! Say Hi to Hank from Wisconsin (mmmm cheese!) who wants to discuss how one can believe and not believe in a God at the exact same time. (Don’t think about it too much dear viewer.) Hank explains his rejection of the Bible and its claims, though the faith he does have in a God is not the one claimed to exist in the Bible. The rejection of a Biblical God does not make any God real. And one cannot be a theist and an atheist simultaneously. (Basic logic can be loss on some).
