The official character art of Tales of Vesperia from Namco. A game that was originally intended to have realistic art design instead of the current cell shaded manga style, however, the team opted for the latter due the underwhelming results of the engine. About ToV:
Tales of Vesperia is a popular Japanese role-playing game developed by "Team Symphonia" and released by Namco Bandai. The development team drew inspiration from the previous Tales titles and created an anime-style art direction for the game, with the characters' shaders designed using the game's drawing engine. The scenario was written by multiple writers, and the game's title was derived from the planet Venus, representing the game's theme of justice. The game's main protagonist, Yuri Lowell, was designed to be a more mature and evolved character than previous Tales protagonists, with veteran character designer Kōsuke Fujishima leading the design team.
