Live from Dekmantel’s 2022 conference, Octo Octa demonstrates one of her signature DJ tools: a cappella records, which contain several tracks of repeated vocals or phrases.

“I have a number of a capella records that I put on top of music all the time. Part of the fun of DJing is presenting music in ways that weren’t originally intended. It’s a really fun orchestration tool that you can use and put over anything,” she says.
