It is situated on the site of the "Hiriya," formerly a 60-meter-high landfill adjacent to Ben Gurion Airport, which has been transformed into the focal point of the new Ariel Sharon Park. This park stands as the largest new urban park constructed in the past century worldwide, surpassing the size of Central Park in New York City. While Ariel Sharon Park is presently accessible in a limited capacity, it is set to open progressively in stages until its full completion by 2020.
