In this video, I will introduce you to a new method of brainstorming. I call it the bare bones to a full meal or just the appetite method. It consists of three elements.
1-the bare bones
2-the meat
3-the sides
This method helps me go from bullet point or broad stroke sentence or scene concept or scene goal..to fleshing out the major parts of a scene. I have brought out my handy dandy whiteboard for y'all, once again, in hopes that this visual aide will better help you understand yet another method I use when brainstorming. I use this method often when I am trying to get to the nitty-gritty of an important scene. It helps me to go from telling, to show, and adding important backstory or relevant information without a lot of exposition and info-dumping. It helps me strip down a scene and build it back up in a way that I can expand upon for pages if needed, all while keeping the rest of the important bits, at the center of my scenes. I hope you will try this method, and tweak it, if needed, to help you adapt it into a method that will work for you while brainstorming. This method helps me keep track of the importance of certain details for scenes, so they don't get lost in the mix when I go to write the chapter, that I want the scene to be included in. I hope that it works for you as well as it has for me!
