If you find yourself out and about this summer looking for a good hike and a place to cool down, you could do a lot worse than Blue Hole Falls in Elizabethton, TN.
Head out to Stoney Creek and turn onto Panhandle Road (into the Cherokee National Forest), and make your way down some steep man-made steps to the Blue Hole. You can hike around it or wade in the waters surrounding it, but the lure of falls - and the chance to jump - is what brings many people to the Blue Hole.
The water is always cold and refreshing, and the past few years have seen the area get cleaner (it used to have a trash problem). It's a great place to hang out on a cool day and fun for the whole family. Visit Blue Hole Falls when you get a chance!
