Moving along with the history of primates, as we approach the Eocene-Oligocene boundary, we find the anthropoids, sometimes called simiiformes. This group encompasses the lineage of both new and old world monkeys, or platyrrhines and catarrhines. These first evolved in the Fayum of Egypt around 37 million years ago, and there are a few subcategories we are going to look at. Let's get started!
