A Case for Books | The Anna & Eric Book Club: An Unrestored Woman and The Arab of the Future @ACaseforBooks | Uploaded September 2017 | Updated October 2024, 3 hours ago.
In the second instalment of our book club we're discussing two books about harrowing times in history told in different formats. Shobha Rao's collection of short stories looks at the way women's lives were affected by the 1947 partition of India and Pakistan, while the first part of Riad Sattouf's graphic memoir trilogy covers his early childhood in France, Syria, and Libya.
(Apologies for the erratic lighting in this one, my camera didn't cope very well with the changing morning light.)
We'd love to hear from you if you read these books, or if you have any thoughts about the subjects we cover in this video. There are lots and lots of ways to get in touch and don't forget to subscribe to this and Eric's channel so you don't miss any book club videos.
