There is a battle between philosophy and sophistry (deception masquerading as philosophy in the theater) that has been going on throughout all history. And if you are familiar with how Socrates and Jesus died you will know why this happened to Charlie Kirk.

In “The Apology” written by Plato, Socrates was charged with impiety (not believing in the gods recognized by the state) and corrupting the youth of Athens.

The playwright Aristophanes is influential in getting Socrates convicted and sentenced to banishment or death. One of Aristophanes plays is called The Frogs, a comedy performed in 405 BCE, where Dionysus, the Greek god of wine and theater (also known as Bacchus in Roman mythology), is a central character. Aristophanes also wrote The Clouds:
Plato does not explicitly state in his dialogues that Aristophanes' play The Clouds directly contributed to Socrates' conviction, but he indirectly addresses the impact of Aristophanes' portrayal. In Plato's Apology, which depicts Socrates' defense speech during his trial in 399 BCE, Socrates references the "old accusers" who have prejudiced the jury against him over time. He mentions a "certain comic poet" (understood to be Aristophanes) who, in The Clouds (performed in 423 BCE), portrayed him as a sophist who speculates about the heavens, denies the gods, and teaches rhetoric for money. Socrates argues that these earlier misrepresentations shaped public opinion against him, creating a bias that his accusers—Meletus, Anytus, and Lycon—exploited during the trial.

Aristophanes mocks Socrates leading to his trial and death. South Park mocks Charlie Kirk weeks before his death. I am not blaming South Park just highlighting that this is literally how the story goes.
South Park's satire of Charlie Kirk is that he is a master debater which would put him firmly in the camp of philosophers like Socrates.
So why is this a deadly game, who is doing this? Look at where people put their attention and the fruit of that attention. Philosophers love wisdom, truth, and they come alive in the arena of dialogue and words (Charlie Kirk).
Sophists hate truth and love deception (guise) and if they cannot control the message they cry out that the message is violence.

There is a religious zealotry around deception and guise and you must conform (the younger you can start the conditioning the better because we are not illogical by nature). The greatest threat is that someone will use words to point out the mask and deception. One well thought out articulate argument and the house of cards falls. But Charlie also did something that even Socrates would have marveled at. Socrates knew he could not reason with the crowd (the theater was the place for the masses).But the philosopher is most powerful when he is in dialogue with one or two people. Charlie Kirk however, was experimenting and even succeeding with dialogue in mass. And that would be a deathblow to the sophist, and the devils who live in the darkness.
