Hey what’s up guys, OSG here, and welcome to the start of a brand new series… The Amiga Years.
After finishing the C64 Years, it’s time to move onto Commodore’s next legendary machine, but before the Amiga properly exploded with the A500 in 1987, we had the strange early years of 1985 and 1986.
This is the prologue to the Amiga Years, covering the early Amiga games before the system really found its feet. There were more releases than this, but a lot of them were straight text adventures like Zork, Leather Goddesses of Phobos and Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy, so while they deserve a respectful nod, this countdown focuses on the 15 games that make the most sense for the video.
In this episode we look at early Amiga titles including Defender of the Crown, Marble Madness, The Faery Tale Adventure, The Bard’s Tale, Archon, Shanghai, The Pawn, Ultima III, The Chessmaster 2000, Silent Service, One on One, Mind Walker, Temple of Apshai Trilogy, Portal and Adventure Construction Set.
This is where the Amiga story begins.
