Hey what’s up guys, OSG here, and welcome back to The Amiga Years.
After the 1985 and 1986 prologue, we’re now into 1987 — and this is where the Amiga story really starts to move forward.
The Amiga 500 arrived in 1987, and while the machine still wasn’t cheap, this was the model that started getting into more homes and helped turn the Amiga into a serious games machine.
This year still isn’t peak Amiga, but compared with the early launch years, the library is much stronger. We’ve got arcade-style games, adventures, strategy, simulations, sports, Cinemaware presentation pieces, Sierra classics, and some properly original ideas.
In this video, I count down 20 Amiga games from 1987, including Ports of Call, Arkanoid, Leisure Suit Larry, The Sentinel, Deja Vu, Uninvited, The King of Chicago, Space Quest, Police Quest, The Guild of Thieves, Test Drive, Emerald Mine, Little Computer People, Roadwar Europa, Phantasie III, Gnome Ranger, Winter Games, King’s Quest III, The Crown of Ardania and The Three Stooges.
