Lost Battlefields w Tino Struckmann | THE AMAZING MODLIN GRANARY BOMBED AND BURNED STILL HERE @tinostruckmann | Uploaded 2 months ago | Updated 10 hours ago
There are few fortresses in history which have begun construction under Napoleon and fought heroically still standing through both World wars and served still through the cold war.
And any great army needs great stores and thus a grand granary, something special truly, something which survived WW1 and was born, bed during WW2 this just a spectacular building and the stories it can tell
Napoleons could hardly have imagined and only hoped for what the fort became after he was vanquished 100 years later Ludendorff and a determined German army against the largest best fortress in Europe, with over 100.000 well armed soldiers. And during WW2 1939 the fortress was one of the last to surrender, and again under German command in 1944 it kept going.
