In many spiritual traditions there is an esoteric understanding that we are alive in an ocean of energy and this ocean holds a memory of all experiences, past, present and future. It is sometimes described as the Hall of Records or the Akashic Records which can appear to people who report near death experiences as a great library of knowledge encoded in a non-physical realm.
If esoteric cosmology maps out the universe with various planes of existence in this Akashic field, could that explain how ghosts of the dead can be seen and sometimes interact with the living. Could the existence of an Akashic field also explain visions of the past or even the future, such as what Nostradamus experienced, that have yet to come to pass?
Although there is no scientific evidence for the existence of the Akashic records, science now suggests the existence of dark matter to be abundant in the universe which seems to have a strong influence on its structure and evolution. Is it possible that this dark matter forms part of the Akashic field that esoteric traditions have understood all along?
