Welcome to Livonia, Dr. Zed.

I’d been surviving alone for months.
Living off the land, hunting, looting, finding clean water where I could.
I thought I was lone.
The last surviving Livonian.
But then one rainy day, on the way back to my encampment, after a hunting trip that almost cost me my life… I discovered another survivor.
He was trapped in a shed surrounded by infected, just metres from my home.
“Hunter” was his name.
Fitting, given the circumstances.
After rescuing him and helping him regain his strength, we sat by a fire to wait out the storm, and reminisced about our lives before the outbreak. It was one of the most joyous moments of my life.
He claimed to have met survivors at the old abandoned U.N. base.
Turns out I’m not alone. There are other survivors out there. And now that I’ve had time to build a safehouse and stock it full of medicine and supplies, I’m ready. It’s time to do my part.
I’ve hid in the shadows long enough. Now I plan to head back out into the desolate wilderness of Livonia.
To find the others, to make contact, to let them know they’re not alone. And to help them survive.
I took an oath before the apocalypse began.
First, to do no harm. I will remember that there is art to medicine, as well as science. And that warmth, sympathy and understanding my outweigh the surgeon’s knife or the chemist’s drug. I will prevent disease wherever I can.
Now that it matters most, I plan to uphold this oath until my dying breath.
And so I set out into the wilderness once more. Not to hunt for food, or for pelts, but for humanity.
My first priority: check for survivors at the U.N. base. If anyone can aid me on my mission, it’s them.
They were our only beacon of hope before the outbreak ravaged these lands. If there are any soldiers left there, then perhaps they’ll be a beacon of hope once again.
