A (pretty spoiler-y??) Adventure Zone: Balance edit to 'Hold On' by Chord Overstreet. So, about a year after I listened to this podcast, and a crap ton of MEP parts, I finally made a proper TAZ edit! Ughhh, this podcast is so good! I've listened to it twice, all the way through, and it's 69 episodes long! XD It's a podcast of people playing Dungeons and Dragons, but the characters and the story line are amazing! It's also really funny, I swear, not just totally angst ridden like this edit seems. I just may have gotten a little bit carried away when I decided to add the first voiceover and then just started added as many as the painful quotes as I could fit. And then tried to make up for it with an uplifting one at the end. I highly recommend listening to it, but it'll take a while. It's on Spotify and iTunes and anywhere you'd find podcasts. I've linked all the fan artists in a Google doc below, check them out, they're all fantastic!

Decided to edit my book babies! (Or some of them. XD) I finally, finally finished something with Harry/Ginny, and edited Will/Nico which Ive wanted to do for a while. I also made the first part in about 4 hours as a backup, and Im really surprised that it actually turned out looking good!

...well, this month has been a lot... I dont even know what to say, beginning of the month I was worried about not having my laptop for editing and stuff, and now Im in a nationwide lockdown for god knows how long... So, yeah, thats a thing. I didnt edit that much this month because Ive had computer problems that I thought got fixed at the start of the month (which is when all of these are from), but now Im in lockdown without it, which is not ideal. I have started learning how to edit on an app on my mums tablet called Alight Motion, and Im beginning to get the hang of it (I think), so hopefully Ill be uploading a bit more regularly given I now have a lot more time on my hands!

I really like how this one came out, I had a lot of fun doing it, even I kind of lost track of the style I was trying to do part way through, started off inspired by purpleshyguy but ran out of ideas towards the end. Also, completely forgot to include anything of them being friendly, its just 15 seconds of fighting.

Back from the very beginning of the month when my biggest concern was whether Id have my laptop to render it... (I didnt, thanks to Mori and Erin for sorting that out for me!) I still really like these parts. Sex Education is a very funny show on Netflix, definitely good to binge, and I broke my track record again with the Bat Family part, that took about 114!

Again, from simpler times when I was worried if Id have my laptop to take part. This show was so good, and Im so sad that it ended... I chose to focus on the baby thieves because I knew most people would be focusing on Raps, Cass, Varian and Eugene, and my mind immediately went to Catalina being a werewolf when I heard the lyrics youre not a monster because I really, really loved that they used it to not be something that had to be cured and instead could be lived with with self-care. Plus, I love these two so, so much, and I adopted them the first episode they appeared! XD

My parts for LILs Pulse mep, AND IM SO EXCITED BECAUSE THIS IS THE ACE THEMED MEP!! Sorry, but Im just so thrilled that we did an ace (asexual/aromantic) themed mep, and Roshanna and Jughead are both canon ace whilst Varys is very heavily implied in the show without being explicitly statement. Anyways, this just makes me so happy because there is barely any ace representation out there, (and this is important because if you dont see it you think its abnormal) so having an mep based around this just makes me sooo happy! My parts for Sarges Sign Of Life mep, where the theme was characters that you headcanon as LGBTQA+ so I headcanon Pidge as non-binary of some sort, and then Cass as bi (which stems, I think, from the fact that I kinda ship her and Harper). I also cant believe that this is the first time Ive ever edited Cass on her own. It should not have taken me this long! My first time actually editing this iconic love triangle, and I had a lot of fun watching 7 year old edits so I could find the right scenes. It was also my first go editing with a style guide that wasnt for something with a heavy fx theme, and it has a really cool effect on the overall look and vibe of the MEP.

I decided to challenge myself a bit this year and joined an MEP that was completely outside of my normal comfort zone. Im really glad that I did because I actually found this quite easy when I got into it. The hardest part was choosing what to put in the part because I love this film so much, and theres so many good shots. If you havent seen Get Out, you need to. Its a horror film where the horror is systemic racism.

Editing Jason always brings out the best in my FX abilities. Im not as happy with my Cass part, I picked it up as a back-up and cycled through a few characters before I settled on Cass. There are bits of it I like, the rest is kinda meh.

Ive actually been meaning to edit Peridot to this song for AGES so Im glad to have finally gotten round to it. Also Jaime has just become one of my go to edits for silly songs.

CrackTP and OTP. The pining didnt have to be canon so whilst Kamala/Bruno are the epitome of that, I also picked Clint/Wade because its honestly half there, especially from Wade. The part styles do not match, but I really wanted to use the slide-y/spinny transitions for Kamala/Bruno, and it didnt work for the other. I also had fun with an old VHS style effects.

I listened to the Six of Crows duology whilst I was researching for my dissertation (after a book rec from Angie forever ago!), and they are SO FREAKING GOOD! I highly recommend them, Leigh Bardugo does a really great job creating distinctive characters, a really interesting world and a twisting, turning plot.
