Sometimes the end of the marriage isn’t the end of survival mode.

Many women come out of confusing or destructive marriages without fully realizing they were experiencing abuse, especially when it was subtle, covert, or hidden behind “normal” relationship dynamics.

And for some women, the coercive control doesn’t stop after divorce. It continues through custody battles, financial manipulation, harassment, or ongoing conflict connected to the children. That’s why healing can feel so layered.
