The @ANYCUBIC3D Kobra X is a sub $400 USD 3D printer designed to make multi material and multi color printing more accessible. In this video I take a hands-on look at the Kobra X, covering setup, calibration, print quality, noise, and real world testing across PLA, PETG, and TPU.

This printer comes mostly pre assembled and features a range of automated setup and tuning routines including PID tuning, resonance compensation, noise reduction calibration, and Anycubic’s LevIQ 3.0 49 point automatic bed leveling system.
One of the standout features is the new ACE Gen 2 color engine. Instead of relying on an external filament switching unit, the Kobra X integrates multi material handling directly into the printhead. This design allows for faster filament changes, reduced purge waste, and the ability to print flexible and rigid materials in the same job.
In this review I test first layer consistency, resonance tuning, AI spaghetti and foreign object detection, multi material prints using PLA, PETG, and TPU, and color accuracy during multi color prints. I also break down the internal design of the printhead and discuss how its cutter placement and cam driven filament selection system differ from more traditional multi material solutions.
