The narrative revolves around a fateful dinner party in 1935. Stauf lured six guests to his mansion: Martine Burden (a former singer) Edward and Elinor Knox (a dissatisfied couple) Julia Heine (a bank worker) Brian Dutton (a shop owner) Hamilton Temple (a stage magician)As the evening progressed, the guests realized they were trapped and were each killed one by one, manipulated by Stauf's dark pact with the devil to gain immortality. The player's character, Ego, is later revealed to be the ghost of the boy Tad, who was originally used by Stauf as an instrument of his evil visions and was murdered in the house
