The 7th Guest is one of the most important early CD-ROM games, and in this video I showcase my complete-in-box copy from 1993. Originally released in April 1993, The 7th Guest was developed by Trilobyte and published by Virgin Interactive Entertainment. This puzzle-driven interactive movie helped push multimedia gaming forward and became one of the defining PC titles of the early CD-ROM era.
In this video, I dive into the history behind the game, including its creators Graeme Devine and Rob Landeros, the origins of Trilobyte in southern Oregon, and the impact The 7th Guest had on PC gaming in the 1990s. The game is often remembered alongside Myst as one of the landmark titles that helped popularize CD-ROM gaming.
