It has officially been 1 year since the "67" meme was first introduced to the internet!
You may have seen people say “six seven” online, but do you know where the phrase originated?
Rapper Skrilla released the song Doot Doot on December 1, 2024, and the quick “6 7” line in the track started everything. It originally referred to 67th Street in Philadelphia, where Skrilla grew up, but in early 2025 editors on TikTok began using it for LaMelo Ball's basketball highlight reels since he is 6'7.
The clip spread fast and grew even more once basketball pro Taylen Kinney repeated it in interviews and added the hand gesture that everyone copies now.
From there, the meme turned into edits, lip-sync videos, number spinoffs, and even earned a Word of the Year mention from Dictionary.com.
A year later, the phrase is still everywhere, having evolved into a cultural movement.
