The 539th Convocation of the University of Chicago took place on Saturday, June 7, 2025, on the Main Quadrangle. The University of Chicago Pipe Band led the academic procession of distinguished faculty and graduating students. President A. Paul Alivisatos delivered the opening remarks, followed by an introduction from Provost Katherine Baicker. Kunle Odunsi, M.D., Ph.D.—AbbVie Foundation Distinguished Service Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology and Medicine, Director of the University of Chicago Medicine Comprehensive Cancer Center, and Dean for Oncology in the Division of the Biological Sciences—delivered the Convocation Address titled “Committing to Excellence in the Face of Life’s Challenges.”
