Earth is a fixed plane, and all the heavenly bodies from the sun to the stars pass above it from east to west giving day/night, seasons, signs & years.
The retrograde motion of planets is still caused by their orbit of the sun, but the sun crosses the earth east to west every day, appearing straight back at the east again as the bible and our observation tells us.
The AE/ FES/ Gleason's model of a circular earth with the south pole around the outside as an 'ice wall' is neither scriptural nor observationally correct. It cannot explain any of the motions of the heavens, especially the stars, which is most basic.
Those who maintain the truth of that model have done no critical research into what its detractors say shows it to be erroneous, which is ironic, because it's exactly the same accusation they level at globe believers who deny the lies of NASA and Heliocentrism.
Why is it important? That's like asking; Why is truth important?
