For three months from Nov 2014, there was an installation of 99 fibreglass Giraffes around Christchurch, New Zealand, by Wild in Art to celebrate the city rising up and standing tall following our 2011 earthquakes.

This video is of the 49 large 2.5m Giraffes which were sponsored by local companies, and then after the display ended were auctioned for four local charities, raising $475,650.

- Life Education Trust (whose character Harold the giraffe was recreated full-size)

- Life In Vacant Spaces
48 Giraffe calf sculptures were also decorated by local schools, and had their own displays around the city.

You'll see that 49 + 48 = 97, meaning the two unaccounted giraffes were: #50, a children's competition winning design; and what I've unofficially dubbed in the video as #99, the second half of Mapthew & Head Above The Clouds.
There was also what could be an even more unofficial Giraffe #100, made from road cones and a hard-hat, dubbed "CONE-RAFF". It was spontaneously constructed by a family after #37 Space Wild was vandalised. It was included into the auction, and was graciously purchased by City Care, the company whose road cones had been appropriated into the cone giraffe.
All videos were taken at 1080p 30fps, and all still photos at 34MP. My apologies that neither came out as clear as that in the final video, this was due to technical issues with Sony Vegas. In the final shot from the main video you also can see my phone which captured all media for this, a Nokia Lumia 1020.
