I’m about to do something that most banks would probably tell you is a terrible idea: I’m dropping my actual credit card into a jar of chemicals to see if I can melt away the plastic and save the brains inside for a custom 3D-printed build.
In this video, I take the risk of dissolving a real credit card in acetone to extract the internal chip and antenna to see if we can successfully transplant functional electronics into a custom-designed, 3D-printed housing without destroying the hardware in the process. Join me as I attempt this "credit card mod" and find out if this DIY experiment ends in a functional masterpiece or a total fail.
