My review of John Buchan's famous pre-world war one thriller The 39 Steps. The novel follows Richard Hannay's attempts to prevent a murder that will begin a war in europe. From early 20th century London, the hub of the British Empire, to the wilds of Scotland, Hannay must avoid the police who want him for murder as well as battling the elements and the dangerous Blackstone conspiracy. Can he ensure that justice is done and peace prevails?
John Buchan was a succesful author and politician. The 39 Steps is arguably his most famous work and was later made into a succesful film.
