This was found released in the wild after the end of its service life. Was last used by some contractor to listen to the radio whilst on the job (the mechanical parts were clapped out). Had paint flecks and stains, most of the knobs were missing and the tape decks didn't work anymore. Replaced the belts, reattached some loose parts and fashioned some volume and tone controls from some old VCR tracking knobs.
For an otherwise nondescript late 80s twin cassette boombox this does have a couple features of note including a 'Tape-Take Along' compartment on the back that lets you pack an extra cassette along with you. Oh sure it'd probably get crap all over it or the sun would ruin it...
Another 'feature' is the fact that you can play both decks at the same time. GE spent the money needed for an interlock on making this AC-bias instead - there's a beat cut switch in back. Model # is 3-5635A and is made in Malaysia.
