I'm going to guess (though I don't know for sure) that the rights to the novel were sold to Riverhead Books, an imprint of Penguin and the publisher of Hernan Diaz's Pulitzer Prize winning novel, Trust. Such is the life of a small press: big corporate publishers often swoop up authors once those authors become a big name!
