In the spirit of World Cup 2022, this week we get in the spirit of things by diving into Copa Mundial history and looking at the most urbanist stadiums to have hosted a key match.
What do we mean by urbanist? Six things: integration with the local urban fabric, walkability, bikeability, access to high quality transit, (small/no) parking footprint, and overall stadium footprint.
What do we mean by "key" World Cup match? I want stadiums that have hosted a semifinal or a final. If your stadium was only good enough for the quarters, it doesn't go on this list.
So this is it -- the ten stadiums from all over the world that do it best, and, of course, plenty of dishonorable mentions and other tangents. Enjoy!
