“That’s My Son”
Before Jesus performed a miracle or fulfilled His earthly ministry, the Father spoke openly from heaven:
“This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.”
I love the picture of it. Almost like the Father couldn’t hold it in any longer. “That’s My Son. I love Him.”
Jesus had not yet done anything publicly, and still the Father delighted in Him.
That’s important for us to remember.
God’s love for you is not built on performance.
It begins with identity.
You are loved before achievement.
Accepted before accomplishment.
And the Father still delights in His sons and daughters today.
