In this video, we work on an Epson ET-8550 that makes a loud screeching noise during startup and then shows error code 034004. This issue is often caused by a damaged or crumbled PF timing belt in the paper feed drive system.
We open the printer, remove the necessary covers and support plate, locate the PF pulley wheel and timing belt, and show how the belt should be routed around the gears and pulley. We also explain the importance of keeping the small steel rod inside the pulley wheel, checking the toothed and smooth sides of the belt, and manually rotating the gears before reassembly.
