You just remember the games where it did.

The availability heuristic is a psychological bias that causes us to judge how common something is based on how easily we can remember examples of it.

In Commander, that means spectacular plays stick in our memory:

🎴 A Craterhoof ends the game on the spot
🎴 A Rhystic Study draws half a deck

But we rarely remember the games where those cards were merely... fine.

The result? Players start treating memorable cards as automatic win conditions, even when reality is much more nuanced.
