I've had quite a lot of comments over the years asking to see any fails I've had while turning - Well unfortunately here's my latest.
I was hoping to turn a natural edge form with this weird shaped Ash Burl but I was concerned from the start that I might have some problems. I got the rough shape turned and then added lots of sanding sealer and wet rot hardener in an attempt to toughen it up, but when taking probably the final pass the section I really wanted to keep came off!! I could then see that there was too much rot to keep going with the original plan. I dug out what I could and have added more wet rot hardener, I will maybe crack open the resin and drop back on it at some point.. Thanks for checking it out..
