I tried out demoknighting with the Tide Turner. I usually use the "Splendid Screen" for pure demoknight (boots and sword), and the "Charge n' Targe" for hybrid knighting (grenade launcher and sword). But the Tide Turner I usually brushed aside, as I like getting right up in enemies faces and the resistance to fire and explosions on the other shields are so good.
BUT, the Tide Turner ACTUALLY works very well on maps with tight areas, where mobility and turning corners are key. The +75% charge gained on melee kill along with the +25% from the boots means you can get ALL your charge back from one kill, allowing for an easy escape, or "ping ponging" off more enemies! Beware however, the Tide Turner can only give you mini-crits, not full crits like the other shields.
