Another class I don't have much experience playing as, but the friend that got me into TF2 in the first place is actually an Engi main. Sometimes I can't help but picture the two of us fighting side by side on the same team, helping each other out and sticking close by. My friend has a couple years on me in terms of gameplay, but perhaps one day. Also, Engineer reminds me a lot of the one in True Capitalist Radio, one of Ghost's main characters and moderators. Team Fortress 2 memes are pretty prevalent there too, mostly with "Engineer is a Spy" jokes.
